Midnattsol Releases Lyric Video For New Single 'The Aftermath'

Midnattsol - the folk metal act centered around the sister vocal team of Carmen Elise Espenæs and Liv Kristine (ex-Leaves Eyes) - released the new single "The Aftermath." Check out the lyric video for the new album's title track in the player above.

The band commented on the song: ""As a huge thank you for waiting for us all these years, here is another song for you before the release of our new album! It contains a message that we want to reach out with; What do you think it is?"

"The Aftermath" is the band's first album in seven years anddrops on May 25th via Napalm Records, with pre-orders available over here.

"The Aftermath" profits massively from the addition of another voice; the fragile track "Vem Kan Segla" oozes pure magic and depth, whereas the rendition of the traditional Swedish ballad "Herr Mannelig" revels in somber glory and folkloristic air. Especially in comparison to its predecessor "The Metamorphosis Melody" (2011), "The Aftermath" relies much more heavily on folk influences lending atmospheric density to the melancholic symphonic metal compositions. A sumptuous and sensual affair and a shimmering highlight in the discography of this German/Norwegian team!

The track listing is as follows

1. The Purple Sky (see video clip here)

2. Syns Sang

3. Vem Kan Segla

4. Ikje Glem Meg
